Instructions

Wizard Startup

On the Solution Designer, go to Solution → Import Tags and select “Import Emerson WirelessHart configuration”. Double-click on the selected wizard or press the "Execute" button to open the initial configuration popup.

Initial Configuration

In the initial configuration dialog, enter the following information:

  • IP Address: Specifies the network IP address of the WirelessHART gateway. This gateway bridges the HART devices (which communicate using the Highway Addressable Remote Transducer protocol) and the network. Setting the IP address to "192.168.1.1" allows the system to locate and communicate with the WirelessHART gateway over a local network. This is a crucial step in accessing data from HART-enabled devices wirelessly.
  • Port: Indicates the network port number to establish communication with the WirelessHART gateway. The specified port, "5094", is used for the network traffic to and from the gateway. This port must be properly configured and opened on network firewalls to ensure that data can be transmitted without interruption. Port 5094 is often designated for specific applications or services by the system administrator to manage network traffic effectively.

Sync Device Node

The "Sync Device Node" dialog will appear. Here, you have the following import option:

  • From a file: Provide the path of your stored file.

Prefix Option (Optional)

Select "Add NodeName as Prefix" option to automatically add the PLC's name as a prefix to all imported tags. It improves organization, especially in solutions with multiple PLCs.

Refresh

Click "Refresh" to display a preview of available tags.

Import

Finally, press "Ok" to start the import process.
