Introduction to Alarms Module

Overview

The Alarms module is a powerful tool designed to monitor and manage alarm events within your solutions, providing alerts for critical events, and storing data for future analysisModule comes with default configurations when setting up a new solution. This page provides an overview of the default settings and outlines the fundamental steps to set them up.

Configuring

To configure the Alarms Module

Configuring an alarm involves creating an AlarmsItem object. Creating an AlarmsItem involves selecting a system Tag and associating a condition to generate an alarm event. Once done, it is necessary to specify which alarm group this item belongs to. The alarm item will inherit properties and attributes defined in the alarm groups. Finally, based on your process hierarchy defined on AlarmsAreas, you can specify which place the alarm item belongs to. So, to create and manage alarm items, go to Alarms/Items; to customize and fine-tune the groups of alarms, go to Alarms/Groups; and to define the process hierarchy and organize your alarm systems, go to Alarms/Areas.

follow the steps below:

  1. First, access Alarms → Items and create an alarm item associated with a tag. Define the alarm behavior and characteristics by configuring its alarm condition, limit, deadband, and message. Read the Alarm Items page for more details.
  2. Access Alarms → Groups and create Alarm Groups to group the alarm items that share common characteristics and define several alarm attributes. Learn more on the Alarm Groups page.
  3. Create hierarchically structured groups of Alarms using Alarm Areas at Alarms → Areas, enhancing the organization and management of alarms. Learn more on the Alarm Areas page
