A Compass gauge displays directional data using a circular scale, typically with cardinal points. Its purpose is to provide orientation information. The gauge uses a needle that points towards a direction, simulating a traditional compass. Configure it by setting the linked value. Use it by integrating the compass into devices or applications requiring geo directional guidance.

Compass Settings

Field

Description

Header

Defines the title of the gauge. Provides a concise label indicating the type of data or metric displayed.

Header Font size

Adjusts the font size of the header text. Ensures the header is readable and consistent with the overall design.

Linked Value

Links a specific data value or source to the gauge. This row accepts values ranging from 0 to 8, where each integer is equivalent to 45°. This setup makes it easy to point the compass to each of the cardinal directions.

Rim Thickness

Specifies the thickness of the outer rim of the gauge. Affects the visual weight and prominence of the gauge.

Stroke

Adjusts the stroke width of the gauge arc. Influences the visual clarity and emphasis of the gauge.

Runtime Execution

During runtime, the Compass Control operates as a dynamic interface for displaying directional data. The gauge’s needle, which simulates a traditional compass, moves in response to changes in the linked value that represents orientation. Operators can integrate this control into devices or applications that require geographical directional guidance, such as navigation systems. The Compass Control’s real-time responsiveness ensures accurate and up-to-date orientation information is available to users, facilitating navigation and spatial awareness in various applications.
