Summary

This example demonstrates how to create a report with various graphical components, such as TrendCharts and Datasets.

Technical Information

This solution explains how to generate reports and save them as documents. Reports can include multiple graphical components like tables, tags, grids, trends, etc. All these components automatically update data when the report is generated, ensuring users always receive the most current information. Reports can be displayed on client screens or saved in various formats, including XPS, HTML, Unicode, ASCII, and PDF.

To create a report, go to the Reports section and click the green plus icon. After creating a report, you can edit it by going to the Form Editor subsection and selecting the desired report from the top left corner.

When editing reports, it's easy to insert tags, tables, and other items using the "Tag" tool in the top toolbar. To add TrendCharts to your report, first create them in the draw environment and save them as a symbol. Then, use the "Symbol" tool in the top toolbar to insert them.

After creating and editing your report, you can save it by using the SaveTrigger functionality, which triggers the report to be saved when a specific tag value changes. Alternatively, you can use the command shown below in the expression textbox. This command can be integrated into a script, an alarm, or (as in this example) activated by pressing a button.

The generated report filename can be dynamically chosen by the user through text inputs in the display. This input is saved to text tags created in the Tags section. Alternatively, you can pre-configure the filename in the SaveFileName area. The same applies to the report's file path. Both configuration methods are shown below:
