Overview
This page provides information about ExternalTags for the OPC UA connection. The OPC UA ExternalTags allow you to dynamically connect to servers using the OPC UA protocol in real-time. This enables the integration and visualization of data and other components of your application without the need to create local Tags.

Configuration
To configure this Protocol as a ExternalTags, go to Unified Namespace → ExternalTags and create a new provider for OPC UA Client Comunnication Driver.
The configuration includes:
- URL: Enter the endpoint URL of the OPC UA server.
- You can discover a OPC UA Server clicking on the Discovery button next to the URL field.
- A new window will appear. Here, enter the IP Address and Port Number where the OPC UA server is running.
- Click the Search button. This will scan for available OPC servers on the specified port.
- Domain: Provide the domain name for the server (if applicable).
- User Name: Input the username for your OPC UA server connection.
- Password: Enter the corresponding password for the provided username.
Certificate Configuration:
- Certificate: Choose between "Custom" (if you have a specific certificate) or "Default" based on your setup requirements.
Additional Settings:
- Windows Authentication: Check this box if you're using Windows-based authentication.
- Disable Security: Tick this if you wish to disable security features (Note: Use with caution).
- Refresh Rate: Specify the rate at which data will refresh or update in miliseconds.
- All Items Same Group: Check this option if you want all items to be grouped together.
- Enable Read Pooling: Tick this to enable read pooling for data acquisition.
