The ControlLogix External TagProvider interfaces with AB Rockwell ControlLogix and CompactLogix devices. Configure this connection to integrate real-time data into applications, eliminating the need for manual tag creation. This setup provides a way to access and utilize data from ControlLogix or CompactLogix series in various applications.

Configuration

Initiate the configuration process by navigating to Unified Namespace → ExternalTags Source and selecting AB Rockwell ControlLogix and CompactLogix devices.

  1. Initiating Setup: Click on the designated button to set up the AB Rockwell ControlLogix/CompactLogix ExternalTags. A new configuration window will appear.

  2. Selecting Device Model: Choose the specific model of your device from the dropdown list. Available options include "1756 - L8X", "Micro 850", for other ControlLogix or CompactLogix models, you can select "Others".

  3. Configuration Details:

    • MaxStringItemsPerBlock: Define the maximum number of string items per block.
    • WaitingBetweenMsgs: Specify the waiting time (in milliseconds or other units) between messages.
    • StringLegacy: Input the legacy string details or enable/disable the legacy mode (depending on its function).
    • IP: Enter the IP address of your AB Rockwell device.
    • Port: Provide the port number where your device is communicating.
    • Slot: Specify the slot number where your module is located.
  4. After filling in all the necessary configuration details, click on the "Connect" or "Save" button (whichever is applicable) to complete the setup.

  5. Test your connection with Test button.
