About the Tag Historian
The tag historian module of FactoryStudio is a software component that allows users to collect, store, and retrieve historical data from
diverse sources
within manufacturing or industrial
settings.
Users can seamlessly connect to
various data sources, including SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and other data acquisition devices.
Integration with
databases
like Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle
enables efficient storage of collected data.
After your data collection and storage, you can leverage the module's array of analytical tools, including charts, graphs, and reports
, to analyze the data comprehensively. They can also establish alarms and notifications based on
collected data to promptly alert them
to critical events or conditions.

Key Functionalities
Canary Historian Embedded
Starting from version 9.2, Canary Historian comes bundled with our platform, offering 100 tags without any additional charges, which can be upgraded to larger systems. We seamlessly log and retrieve data to and from the Historian using native .NET APIs, ensuring robust performance, security, and functionality. Canary Historian is also tightly integrated with Tatsoft Asset Modeling, enabling the creation of Trends, Dashboards, and Advanced Data Applications using Client Tools. An upgrade option is also available for unlimited tags.
Multiple Historians
In addition to our embedded SQL and Canary historians, we collaborate with all major industry players such as OSISoftPI and InfluxDB, among others. We don't restrict projects to a single historian; instead, you can utilize multiple data sources simultaneously as needed.
Storage and Replication
Store and Forward
Universal Time and Daylight Saving
These features, as described for Alarms and Events,
The tag historian module provides real-time and historical data for analysis, which helps users optimize their manufacturing processes, improve quality control, and reduce downtime. It is a powerful tool for industrial automation and control, and it can be used in a wide range of applications, including energy management, water treatment, and production monitoring.

Process Analysis and Batch Systems
.
Real-time, Historical and Batch Charts
Online charts operate at the client display level, whether or not there's a historian connected to the selected tags. Our built-in trend chart control is accessible across desktop, web, and mobile clients. This enables users to compare Compare two curves on the same chart, originating from two different start times, ideal which proves invaluable for batch and process analysis.
Vertical and XY plots
Vertical waterfall and XY charts are available, with all properties accessible through real-time tags or in the code behind scripts.
Annotations and Alarms Overlay
The Our platform comes with offers customizable open project templates so , allowing you can to overlay annotations stored in SQL databasedatabases, or as well as alarm conditions and acceptance, on top of the trend charts.

Real-time Online Charts
Online charts run at the client display level, even if there is no historian to the selected tags. Built-in trend chart control is available for desktop, web, and mobile clients.acknowledgments, directly onto the trend charts.
Customize and Save at Runtime
Empower operators to customize tag groups, scales, and the whole overall appearance of the trend charts at runtime; in real-time. They can then save and share the configurationthese configurations as needed.
Snapshots, Tables
,and Reports
It is possible to add trend charts to Trend charts can be seamlessly integrated into web and PDF reports. Additionally, operators can generate image snapshots , and export value data tables . Exports are available upon operator commands or any process event.

OSIsoftTM PI System Database
For high-performance, large applications, instead of a SQL database, it is possible to keep tag historians on the PI System database. The pure .NET SDK level connection with PI (no COM, OPC, or OLEDB required) provides high performance and single-click tag definition synchronization.
with just a command or triggered by any process event.
Data quality
Data Qualityand Timestamp
Tag Quality is both stored and presented displayed on the trend charts. The platform can handle up to Our platform is capable of handling timestamps as precise as 0.1 ms interval timestamps, therefore, the precision will be whatever the evolution of intervals. This ensures that your data management, powered by our platform, is well-equipped to adapt to future advancements in networks and data acquisition devices will bring in the future. Your data management based on the platform is . It's prepared for long-term usage and process enhancements.
Real-time SPC Calculation
With real-time SPC (Statical Process Control) calculation, it is possible to set up control charts and process capability analysis for any process parameter measured in real-time, such as temperature, pressure, or flow rate. The system constantly monitors the process data and alerts the user if any parameter goes out of control or if there is any deviation in the process from its standard performance.
