Solution Name: ReportWithDatasets

Software Version:  10.1

Summary

This solution example shows how to produce a report with different graphical components, like TrendCharts and Datasets

Technical Information

This solution shows how to generate Reports and save them as documents. These Reports can have multiple graphical components like tables, tags, grids, trends, etc. All of these components have the ability to update data when a Report is generated. This provides users with the most up-to-date data in their Reports. This can even be done on client displays or for saving files in different formats, like XPS, HTML, Unicode, ASCII, and PDF.

To create a Report, go to the Reports section and click on the green plus icon. After creating, to edit a given report simply go to the Form editor subsection, and remember to select the desired report in the top left corner.
When editing Reports, it's easy to insert Tags, tables and different items by using the “Tag” tool in the top toolbar. To add TrendCharts to your reports, firstly you need to create them in the draw environment, and save them as a Symbol, after that, simply use the “Symbol” tool in the top toolbar to insert them.

After creating and editing your report, you can save them by using the SaveTrigger functionality, where if a given tag value is changed, it’ll trigger the report to be saved. Another option is to use the command shown below in the expression textbox. This command can be either integrated to a script, an alarm, or (as in this example) be activated by pressing a button.

The generated Report filename can be dynamically chosen by the user through text inputs in the display, saving this information to text Tags created in the Tags section. Another option is to configure the FileName beforehand in the SaveFileName area. The same is true for the Report’s FilePath.
Both cases configurations are shown below:
