The Import Wizard for tags from the Prediktor APIS Historian provides a user-friendly interface to facilitate the import of tags into a user's application. This wizard supports two distinct components of the Prediktor APIS Historian: Hive and Honeystore, each catering to different data storage and access methodologies.

  • Hive: This option is typically used for real-time data handling and streaming. The Hive configuration in the Import Wizard requires the user to specify an instance, generally predefined as "Prediktor.ApisLoader.1". This instance points to a specific service within the Hive component that manages data flow and integration.
  • Honeystore: Honeystore organizes data in a relational database format for historical data storage. When selecting the Honeystore option, the user must specify the database name where the historical tags are stored.

Wizard Startup

Go to Solution → Import Tags on the Designer workspace and select "Import PrediktorAPIS." Double-click on the selected wizard or press the "Execute" button to open the initial configuration popup.

Initial Configuration

In the initial configuration dialog, enter the following information:

  • Server Name: Specifies the server where the Prediktor APIS Historian is hosted. In both Hive and Honeystore options, this is preset to "localhost".
  • Instance (Hive): Available when Hive is selected. Users specify "Prediktor.ApisLoader.1" as the instance to connect to the Hive component of the Historian.
  • Database Name (Honeystore): Available when Honeystore is selected. Users enter the specific database name within the Honeystore component of the Historian that holds the desired tags.

Sync Device Node

The "Sync Device Node" dialog will appear. Here, you have the following import option:

  • From a file: Provide the path of your stored file.

Prefix Option (Optional)

Select "Add NodeName as Prefix" option to automatically add the PLC's name as a prefix to all imported tags. It improves organization, especially in solutions with multiple PLCs.

Refresh

Click "Refresh" to display a preview of available tags.

Import

Finally, press "Ok" to start the import process.
