Wizard Startup

Go to Solution → Import Tags on the Designer workspace and select "Import Canary Labs configuration." Double-click on the selected wizard or press the "Execute" button to open the initial configuration popup.

Initial Configuration

In the initial configuration dialog, enter the following information:

• Server Name: Specifies the server where the Canary Labs historian is hosted. Typically, users set this to "localhost" if the historian runs on the same machine as the client.
• Client Id: Identifies the client connection with a unique identifier. Users use this to distinguish different client sessions.
• ConnectionType: Defines the type of connection. When set to "Anonymous," no authentication is required, but users can select other options that may require credentials.
• User Name: Provides the username for authentication when a non-anonymous connection is chosen. Users leave this field empty for anonymous connections.
• Password: Stores the password associated with the username, if required. Like the username, users only fill this field for authenticated connections.
• Enable Backfill Insert: Enables the insertion of historical data (backfill) when checked. Users allow data to be inserted into past timestamps.
• View: Specifies the view or subset of data to be imported. Users typically use this to filter data by specific criteria, such as the computer name.
• Dataset: Selects the dataset from the Canary Labs historian to be imported. Datasets represent groups of related tags and data streams.
• Connection Str: It shows a connection string generated based on the node station parameters defined in the configuration dialog. The connection string uniquely identifies the connection setup and allows the system to establish a link with the Node station. The system uses this string to import data according to the defined parameters.

Sync Device Node

The "Sync Device Node" dialog will appear. Here, you have the following import option:

• From a file: Provide the path of your stored file.

Prefix Option (Optional)

Select "Add NodeName as Prefix" option to automatically add the device's name as a prefix to all imported tags. It improves organization, especially in solutions with multiple devices.

Refresh

Click "Refresh" to display a preview of available tags.

Import

Finally, press "Ok" to start the import process.
